burning questions
I’m considering booking a shoot, but I’m hesitant because I’m insecure about my body.
1. It’s understandable to feel that way.
Not many people look in the mirror and see perfection. (Bravo to those who do.) We’re our own worst critic. Society throws a lot of negative messaging at us, and it has since we entered this world. Learning to challenge the negative thoughts that we have about ourselves takes time.
2. Sometimes we catastrophize.
Generally, other people don’t scrutinize our physical appearance the way we do or the way we fear others will. I might see a photo of myself and immediately notice that one thing on my body that irks me or makes me feel unattractive. But other people could see the photo a thousand times and never notice it.
3. Rest assured:
You would not be the first person to tell me that they are camera shy, insecure about their body, or uncomfortable with being “sexy.” Every person who has shared those concerns has walked out of the studio feeling unstoppable.
4. Let’s talk about it.
Don’t be afraid to tell me if you struggle with body image or if there are certain things that make you feel comfortable, poses you want to try, features you want to accentuate, or body parts you want to avoid.
I’m not sure if boudoir is meant for me.
Boudoir is for everyone. Period. Why? Because everyone deserves to feel good about themselves. All genders. All body types. All skin colors. All people.
I feel like I can’t do boudoir because I’m . . .
I’m going to stop you right there. There is nothing about you that makes you any less worthy of feeling beautiful. (Or handsome, or gorgeous, or adorable, or however you want to feel!) That said, if there is something about you that you feel I should know so that I can support you during the shoot, please let me know.
Do I have to be partially nude?
If a question starts with “Do I have to,” the answer is most likely “No.” You don’t have to do anything. You’re in the driver’s seat. You don’t have to be nude. You don’t have to be partially nude. You don’t have to wear lingerie. This is your photoshoot. It’s your moment.
I’ve never done this before. Will you help me?
Of course! I have over a decade of experience posing and directing people. I will make sure you feel confident and comfortable!
logistics
Can I bring a friend?
Absolutely! Your safety and comfort are my top priority.
Do you offer payment plans?
A non-refundable fee of $300 is required at booking. This fee will go towards the total cost of the session. I offer payment plans for the remaining cost of the session. Photos will not be provided until payment is complete.
Can you photoshop my body?
Generally, I do not like to make significant changes to people’s bodies, as I think that everyone is beautiful the way they are. I do offer acne/blemish removal per request. Per my contract, clients may not alter photos after delivery.
What do I wear?
Whatever you’re most comfortable in! It can be a t-shirt and shorts, lingerie, or a cute button up! I do ask that clients wear neutral colors (white, beige, tan, brown, or black).
I don’t feel comfortable with photos being posted on the internet.
That’s okay! That’s what my model calls are for. I will ask if you want to sign a model release form, but you can decline.
Will my photos be kept private?
Should you decline use of your photos on social media, you will be the only person with access to them. You can access the photos on a password-protected website that is not open to the public. The webpage will be deleted after thirty days to protect your privacy. Because of this, you’ll want to download your photos right away. You can also receive them on a thumb drive for a fee.
still having reservations?
Talk to me! I offer a free phone consultation for all services. I am happy to answer any questions you may have or discuss what you can expect during your session.
