first birthday cake smash!
For every cake smash session, you will get to customize the process of capturing your baby’s huge milestone! Whether you would prefer to be in the driver’s seat or not lift a finger, you can be as involved as you like. You can come to me with any theme in mind!
I strongly recommend booking your cake smash 1–2 months before your child’s birthday.
What is the cost of a cake smash session?
All cake smashes are $400. An additional $100 is added if you will not be bringing a cake of your own. A non-refundable retainer fee of $200 is required at booking to secure a date.
How long is the session?
Sessions are typically 1 hour. It depends on the child’s mood and how they react to the cake smashing. I spend the first 10-20 minutes capturing portraits of your child before the cake comes out. There is a kitchen and a bathroom where you can wash your child up after the mess.
What if my child doesn’t smash the cake?
That’s okay! I happen to know a few tricks to getting a child to play with cake.
How many images will I receive?
I will deliver a minimum of 25 photos via Pixieset, where you can download and print as many as you would like.
Do I need to provide a cake?
That’s up to you! You are more than welcome to purchase a cake on your own, or I can provide the cake for an additional $100. I encourage clients to use a local baker, and I can recommend some great ones if needed. If you are bringing your own cake, plan to order it 2 weeks in advance. Most custom cakes are between $75-$130.
Will you do a particular theme I have in mind?
Absolutely! Show me your birthday party ideas, Pinterest board, color scheme, or anything else. I LOVE crafting and bringing a vision to life. Although I do not copy other artists, I am happy to work off of inspiration photos. I will provide everything unless there is something you want to bring!
I don’t want my child posted online. Is that okay?
Yes, that is 100% okay. Privacy and respect are important to me. I only ever post children on my website and social media with the express consent of their guardian(s). I ask clients to sign an agreement so I can post the photos online, but you may decline.
